Like Kara, my wife is from a middle of no where are south of her home town. So if a individual is a jerk before they go in, chances are they are going to be a jerk while they are in. So tone down public displays of affection when your marine is in uniform since PDAs are frowned upon by the Marine Corps. Dating a service member is not all fun and games; it takes a lot of work and patience, but if you are interested in the person and not just the uniform, then he is definitely worth the pursuit. I'm trying to prepare myself for if he eventually gets deployed, but I've come to a conclusion that I'm not really sure I can prepare for something like that.
I have been in a long distant relationship for almost two years now and a we had a wonderful relationship being there for him whilst we had to endure our first deployment just after 6 months of us getting together.
Nothing is ever official until it's in writing, and even then it's subject to change. They want someone at home waiting for them, just waiting to love on them.
